The Pitch
Yes, I am having the time of my life…what, with live music almost every night of the week, who wouldn’t be. Then I get to share these moments with all sorts of interesting persons who have somehow discovered the Showroom and the uniqueness of the experience for themselves. But maintaining the ‘Showroom experience’ requires lots of time (of which I have some) and lots of monies (of which I need more). Here are some ways that you, who are the supporters of what it is we are doing at the Showroom, can aid us in our endeavors to remain the best listening venue in Canada ( some say even on the world stage )
Regarding Time Concerns, Volunteering
Time always requires us to be extremely aware of the many tasks that need precise scheduling. Now although Georgia and myself are getting the jobs done, there is always room for those persons that might wish to be a part of putting together an evening’s performance so it runs ever so smoothly. Some of the things needing to be done are popcorn making/serving, ticket taking, dish washing and after show clean-up. There are always the necessary duties to maintain the eloquence of the experience (dusting) as well those who wish to put up posters around the valley for us. Attending the concert and a free beverage is what we can offer up as remuneration for those wishing to be of aid.
Regarding Financial Concerns, Showdough
The Duncan Garage Showroom is very aware that we put many of our customers in a tough decision making position. So many great concerts to attend and only so much money to go around. Hence our creation of Duncan Garage Showroom Showdough. Yes, our license to print money so to speak. For only $100 Canadian you can purchase $120 worth of our DGS Showdough. It comes in denominations of $5 /$10 /$20 and is redeemable at Ten Old Books for tickets or at the door the evening of the performance. It also makes great gifts for the friends and relatives that you might want to turn onto the unique Showroom experience. Ask at our canteen counter or phone 250-748-7246 for appointment In some cases, we need trades work done and we wish for those would accept partial payment with Showdough to please get a hold of us
The “I’m a Chronic” Live Music Pass
This is a no brainer…give us a $1000 and you can come to as many shows* in a year as you want / need *only for one person and non-transferable, please
The “Oh No , I just inherited a whole bunch of money and know not what to do but do feel like I want to give some to a worthwhile cause.” situation
What can I say, I did. A whole bunch to be exact. Then again I am in a position to truly believe that what is happening at the Showroom is a benefit to our community and to the greater good of the Canadian music scene. If you feel the same way then come on down and we will talk.
